How does Gignewton work?
In a nutshell, the artist or DJ creates a professional profile that includes his/her bio, description, and work history. This profile can also include photos, videos and audio samples of his or her work. Venues and promoters can review these profiles via the GigNewton search engine specifically made for promoters. Artists cannot see other profiles, only venues and promoters have access to these profiles.
How is GigNewton different from Facebook or LinkedIn?
First off, we are not a social site. GigNewton is not about making friends. Secondly, artist profiles are not public. They're only available to promoters and venues serious about hiring talent. Third, we are specifically intended for recording artists, DJs and those in the entertainment field. We specialize in connecting artist with venue.
What's the process of getting a gig?
Create your profile (which is basically your online resume). GigNewton promotes to producers, venues, talent agencies and promoters. We give them full access to our web portal to search and review all profiles. They can either select talent based on the profiles or they can fill out a Request Form and GigNewton will send them profile links that best fit their needs. GigNewton then acts as a communicator to close the deal including setting a price, contract fulfillment and more.
How can an artist better his/her chance of getting a gig?
There are several ways. One is to post a "Gig" listing which lets the venue / promoter know you're available at a special rate. By setting a special, flat rate; venues and promoters are more likely to take advantage of your offer. Another way is to make sure your profile has plenty of information including complete bio, photos, videos and audio samples of your work. Another way is to upgrade your membership to our Premium Membership which GigNewton promotes you as well as features you throughout the site.
Why can't other artists see my profile?
Once again, GigNewton.com is not a social site. It's not about other artists seeing what you have to offer. It's about you getting gigs. Other artists cannot see your profile because each artist is basically a product that only promoters / venues are shopping for. This allows you to deal with promoters in confidence, one on one.
Can venues / promoters see each other?
No. GigNewton.com is set up for venues to only interact with artists. There's really no reason for venues/ promoters to communicate with each other. It's all about finding quality talent. This also allows promoters / venues to interact with artists / talent in confidence.
